Yesterday, Anthropic released remote control for cloud code. I tried it this evening. I love it. Absolutely.
Imagine controlling your command prompt window from any browser, issuing commands, reviewing code, all remotely. It does remind me a little bit of working with OpenCloud, controlling agents via WhatsApp, but now cloud with cloud code, of course, it’s safer, right?
So I updated my cloud code first. That’s what is required. Then ran remote control command and boom, you get access to a URL browser window from which you can access and control the command prompt.
Beyond experimenting, I said you know let’s try what all we can do. So access local files. Here is other interesting thing, you could add new skills on fly. So you want to do something on your computer but you don’t have that skill, just add from remote, right? And you start doing more from your phone basically. So it’s a kind of a bootstrapping from your phone. That’s kind of, I thought that was amazing.
Only complaint is that with openclaw I can use a command like switch deepseeek, switch quen, switch opus and it changes models and I can save money. But here yes it’s cloud, right? So you got to stay with cloud, which is a little expensive to use, right?
Have you guys tried it, this remote control feature just released?
And what scenarios do you find interesting? Because I’m looking for, I’m just trying not just controlling code and looking the code window run through because that kind of gets boring, but being able to remotely do things and add skills and do things on the computer differently.
